
Dr. Crystal MacKay is a Scientist at West Park Healthcare Centre and holds a Status appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University, a MHSc (Community Health and Epidemiology) in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and a PhD in the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. Following her doctoral studies, she completed postdoctoral training at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. The vision of her program of research at West Park is to improve health services delivery and health outcomes for people living with limb loss. Broadly, her research is focused on 1) examining the health and social needs, health outcomes and health service use of people with limb loss; and 2) developing and evaluating patient-centred health interventions, such as exercise and self-management interventions for people with limb loss.
