Benefits of working at West Park

A culture of life-long learning and best practices

    Vision Mission Values

The dedication, competence and pride of our staff creates a caring, therapeutic environment for our patients. West Park is an organization that believes in life-long learning and best practices. The Centre is also committed to a fair and safe work environment.

    At West Park, we offer:

While taking into consideration internal equity, market forces and other competitive and/or economic factors, West Park endeavours to provide compensation at competitive levels for all of its employees.

West Park provides a comprehensive benefits program to all eligible employees. These benefits range from prescription drugs and vision care, to dental and therapy services. In addition, employees are able to contribute to the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). West Park employees also can access the on-site wellness services provided by Rehab Plus, which will submit claims to extended health insurance on employees’ behalf so they are reimbursed quickly.

West Park Healthcare Centre is committed to the physical and emotional well-being of its employees. To assist staff in times of crisis and stress, we have retained an outside firm to provide voluntary, confidential counselling services in a wide variety of areas to staff and their immediate family.

To encourage life-long learning among employees, we provide real opportunities and incentives for ongoing learning and knowledge-building. We offer a variety of competitive tuition bursary and loan programs to help staff meet their educational and professional development pursuits.

West Park fosters a culture of staff recognition for outstanding performance. The programs include Long-Service Awards, Staff BBQ and Strawberry Social.

At West Park, we recognize health and safety as vital to fulfilling our mission and are committed to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment through a comprehensive Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness Program.

West Park’s campus boasts a welcoming environment for staff, as well as patients and residents. The Centre is surrounded by an award-winning landscape, with tree-lined walkways, accessible patios and gardens, rooftop terraces and manicured lawns. Bold, innovative Campus Development projects for the near future include the construction of a new hospital, along with an exciting non-hospital development with services related to seniors and people with disabilities. Together, these developments will elevate West Park into a world-class, integrated campus of care.

Affiliated with post-secondary institutions such as the University of Toronto and Humber College, West Park is committed to training tomorrow’s healthcare professionals. Professionally supervised student training and education opportunities exist in nursing, respiratory and rehabilitative medicine, respiratory therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, recreation therapy, pharmacy and health administration.

Our Professional Practice Department and other departments provide the support our staff need to provide the very best clinical practices and participate in research and ongoing professional development activities.
