In January, construction crews finished the concrete pour for the entire fourth floor of the Inpatient Block
North and South Inpatient Blocks
Keen observers of the construction site may notice a weather-proof seal has been placed around the exterior of the Ground Level (basement) in the Inpatient Block. The seal is to protect the inside as construction workers are framing and installing masonry block to shape the rooms, as well as beginning the “rough-ins,” a stage when the mechanical and electrical services such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and conduits are being installed.
So far, Ground Level departments in the North Inpatient Block have begun to take shape including Stores, Purchasing and the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (currently known as Central Supply Reprocessing) and the loading dock area. Construction workers are making their way to frame and install rough-ins for the South Inpatient Block. For a list of Ground Level departments, click here
Sprinkler and drainage pipes, and studs for the walls are being placed throughout the Main Level.
Levels Four and Five
The concrete pour for the entire fourth floor is complete. Level 4 will be home to two Long-Term Ventilation units and the Enhanced Living Unit. In the North Inpatient Block, construction workers have begun the concrete pour for the fifth floor.
EllisDon has almost completed the first level of underground parking (P1) and preparing the structure to form the Main Level. Levels P2 and P3 are already complete.
