What will West Park's new hospital look like? We don't know yet. But West Park has prequalified three teams to develop a proposal that will include architectural drawings, based on the planning documents our staff and consultants have worked tirelessly to develop over the past two years.
West Park and Infrastructure Ontario (IO), the government body that oversees major construction projects in the province, has announced three prequalifying teams who will be bidding to design, build, finance and maintain the hospital’s new six-storey, approximately 730,000 square foot facility.
Based on an open, competitive Request for Qualifications (RFQ) that began in September 2016, the following three teams have been shortlisted and will be invited to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP), expected to be issued in Spring 2017:
- EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare
- Plenary PCL Partnership
- West Park Healthcare Partnership

For the RFP, the prequalifying teams will review the planning documents our staff and consultants have worked tirelessly to develop over the past two years, and submit their proposal that will include architectural drawings, construction plans and timeline. The proposals will undergo an intense evaluation and the winning bid costs will be announced tentatively in Spring 2018.
West Park is on the bold path to transform its campus into a world-class centre for rehabilitative care. The hospital will demolish three of its current patient care buildings to make way for a larger, new hospital facility that will meet Ontario’s future healthcare needs.
