Infection Prevention and Control

Public reporting of Hand Hygiene Compliance Rates; and C. difficile (Clostridium difficile), VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus) and MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) infection rates is another, helpful measure to ensure the care provided to our patients is even safer, and improves over time.

It will also allow West Park to establish a baseline from which we can then track our rates over time. West Park continually looks internally at our hospital’s processes, identifies areas for improvement, and implements strategies to reduce infection rates at West Park.

Patients and their families should know that West Park is safe, that the care patients receive here is of the highest quality.

The public reporting of infection rates is not intended to serve as a measure for hospitals to compare themselves against other organizations, or for the public to use as a measure of where to seek care. Some hospitals may experience higher rates due to their type (i.e. acute care) and patient population (i.e. elderly).
