Geriatrics and Internal Medicine
Dr. Nicula held various positions in the acute care setting, rehabilitation facilities and outpatient practice that allowed her to gain clinical experience working collaboratively with specialized geriatric inter-professional teams. She joined the medical staff at West Park in December 2015 leading the implementation of the Frail Seniors Framework in the organization, and the development of a new Specialized Geriatric Services program.
Currently Dr. Nicula provides comprehensive in-patient, out-patient and virtual care geriatric assessments, with a focus on identifying reversible factors of frailty and functional rehabilitation. She has vast clinical experience in in the diagnosis and management of neurodegenerative conditions, delirium, falls, impaired mobility, osteoporosis, polypharmacy, progressive frailty, among others. She embraces a patient-centered model of care and considers patient/ caregiver education, regarding normal aging processes and chronic disease management as two pivotal components to obtaining good health outcomes.
Dr. Nicula is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at enjoys teaching and mentoring students and residents interested in Geriatrics.iography - Clinical and educational appointments.
- Dr. Nicula graduated from “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She continued her postgraduate training at the University of Toronto in the programs of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
