Canadian Men's Para Hockey Team

On Oct. 23, 2019 West Park hosted some remarkable people.

Elite para athletes and organizations gathered at West Park as part of Adaptive Sport Demo Day.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to meet the Canadian Men's Para Hockey Team.

The team met with West Park patients and staff and toured West Park's Amputee Rehabilitation Gym and Prosthetics Lab.

Following the tour, the team joined the Adaptive Sport Demo event, meeting with patients and staff and other elite athletes.

The Demo Day gave attendees the opportunity to speak with athletes about para sports like sledge hockey, sailing, climbing, cycling and more.

Attendees also enjoyed a talk by West Park's Dr. Steven Dilkas on the importance of sport for rehabilitation.

Organizations like the Ontario Para Network and ParaSport Ontario were also on hand to connect people to the exciting world of adaptive sports.

It was an informative, fun day and West Park hopes to share the wonders of para sports again soon.
