Healthy Together is an annual publication which embodies the promise West Park holds in high regard - get your life back. It also reflects West Park’s mission, which is, in part, to enhance lives, inspire hope and encourage independence.
This year's issue is no exception. Click here to read this year's issue.
In this year's issue you'll find:
Health Tips & Bits
Providing readers helpful information that aids them in everyday life. This feature includes simple tips on everything from ways to prevent stroke and quit smoking, to how to create a life skills toolbox.
For people facing more serious rehabilitation hurdles, Healthy Together provides stories of inspiration, featuring actual patients who have reclaimed their lives and realized their potential. Tips on how to optimize rehabilitation, recovery or other areas are also provided.
This year's issue includes an inspirational story about Patrick Doyle, who was crushed by a 10-tonne piece of equipment on the job, which left him with severe injuries to his head, neck, chest, arm and hip. He was not expected to last the night, but instead has gone on to run marathons, all with a prosthetic leg.
You can also read how barriers to independence are being torn down, and how the goal to eradicate tuberculosis is progressing.
Updates on West Park’s planned development are also provided, giving community members a snapshot of how West Park plans to address the needs of patients in the future.
