Susan Armstrong is President and Chief Executive Officer of CDSPI, where she is responsible for leading CDSPI’s advisory, wealth management, insurance and health and wellness service offerings for the benefit of the Canadian dental community.
Sue has more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian insurance and reinsurance industries. During this time she served as Senior Vice-President of Swiss Reinsurance Company Canada, with previous roles at CIBC Insurance and The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company.
Having received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, Sue subsequently earned her CPA, CA designation and the designation of ICD.D (Institute of Corporate Directors) from the Rotman School of Management.
Sue is a member of a variety of organizations and boards of directors that support her business endeavours and personal values. She has served several organizations in the health care sector. In addition to serving as a director of West Park Healthcare Centre, Sue is a director and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of Toronto East General Hospital. Previously, she served on the boards of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the George Hull Centre for Children and Families, which she chaired for three years. Sue also served as a director and Chair of the Audit Committee of McGraw-Hill Ryerson Limited, a public company in the educational publishing industry. Sue is a member of Financial Executives International, International Women’s Forum and the Women’s Executive Network.
Sue is actively committed to the arts, including supporting and attending the Canadian Opera Company and Toronto Symphony Orchestra performances. She is an avid reader and golf is a passion which she pursues at St. George’s Golf and Country Club.
