Melanie joined TD Bank Group in June 2011 as a Vice President in Human Resources and progressed to the role of Senior Vice President in June 2012. Within Melanie’s current remit she leads the Talent Centre of Expertise (CoE) within the HR function that encompasses Learning and Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management. 

Prior to leading the Talent CoE, Melanie was the SVP, HR Business Partner supporting the Canadian Personal Bank, Business Banking, Wealth and Insurance. She is a member of the Human Resources Operating Committee (HROC).

Before Melanie joined TD, she worked with The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for 12 years and spent the last four years as VP HR for RBC Capital Markets where she led a global HR team with offices in Toronto, New York, London and Hong Kong. She held various positions in HR during her tenure with RBC and was known for her ability to partner with leaders as they grew their business, ensuring they attracted and retained the right talent. 

Melanie began her career in executive search before moving to in-house HR roles with a few Canadian-based financial institutions. She holds a BBA from Ryerson and a Masters in Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education majoring in Organizational Development and Change. Melanie is an active member of the CD Howe Institute and sits on its Human Capital Council. She is also the former Chair of the HR Committee and board member for Woodgreen Community Services and currently sits as a Director for the TD Insurance Board.
