West Park's vision is to be an integrated campus of care that truly models the way of the future for patient care delivery, education and research.
To achieve this, West Park has embarked on two major capital projects that brings together rehabilitative, complex continuing, primary and long-term care and independent living opportunities on a single site.
Project #1: Hospital Development
Construction Timeline: 2018-2023
The Hospital Development oversees the building of a new, 730,000 square foot world-class hospital facility incorporating the best and latest in architectural design, emerging technologies and stunning therapeutic landscapes to help patients in their journey from crisis to hope.
The project scope includes:
- Construction of new hospital
- Demolition of Main, Ruddy, Gage and maintenance buildings
- Creation of new campus entrance
- Renewal of green space
EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare (EllisDon) has been awarded a fixed-price contract to design, build, finance and maintain West Park's Hospital Development project.

Project #2: Non-Hospital Development
Construction Timeline: To Be Determined
The Non-Hospital Development will extend West Park's spectrum of services by creating a vibrant community with housing and related services for seniors and people with disabilities. About five acres at the eastern end of the campus, which currently consists of surface parking, is designated for the project.
Revenue from this entrepreneurial initiative will contribute to covering the cost of the new hospital.

Why Build an Integrated Campus of Care?
Health Care Challenge
With increased pressure on the healthcare system, West Park is at the forefront in meeting one of the key health care challenges of the future — delivering advanced rehabilitative and complex continuing care to an aging population and people living with chronic disease.
As a result, demand for West Park’s services has significantly increased, outstripping the hospital's ability to keep up with patient demand in its current facilities.
Our Solution
West Park is boldly transforming its 27-acre property into an integrated campus of care, offering patients easy access to a continuum of healthcare services in one location.
By bringing together advanced rehabilitative care, specialized complex care, long-term care, primary care and independent living opportunities on a single site, West Park's integrated campus of care will expand its ability to deliver dignity and quality of life for an active and aging population.
