Phase Two: Setting our Sights Higher
Goal: $6 million
We’re taking things to the next level with the launch of Setting our Sights Higher, the next phase of our Raising the Bar Campaign.
Our campaign has been about helping patients and residents lives the fullest lives possible. Our facilities must be welcoming, comfortable and conducive to efficient and cost-effective delivery of care.
Our goal is to create a physical space that reflects and supports our commitment to helping our patients, residents and families live the fullest lives possible. Therefore, proceeds from this phase of our campaign will support the following:
Main Building Renovations: $ 5 million
West Park’s Main Building was state-of-the-art when it was completed in 1979. In 25 years, however, much has changed. Quite simply, the centre has outgrown its space. Each of West Park’s ten in-patient units will undergo renovations.
Refurbishment of the Diagnostic Imaging Suite: $ 1 million
Patients and residents will be able to receive
in-house, one-stop diagnostic tests such as x-rays that reduce the
need to transfer them to an acute-care hospital. The refurbishment
will include the purchase of state-of-the-art digital technology
including a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). This
will allow electronic retrieval and storage of diagnostic images
that can be read off-site by radiologists from special computers,
completely eliminating the need for film and speeding up the diagnosis
and treatment of patients and residents.
