  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Current BCLS is required
  • BScN preferred
  • ACLS trained an asset
  • Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BCLS) required
  • Physical assessment course completed within the last 5 years or be committed to enrolling in a physical assessment course at a recognized community college 6 months from date of hire or as assessed as required.
  • Previous experience in neurological rehabilitation, including ABI and behaviour management
  • Minimum 1 year experience with demonstrated education and knowledge of rehabilitation concepts and practice
  • Capable of independent decision-making with regard to implementing nursing specific treatments
  • Excellent assessment and clinical skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Good knowledge of computer technology
  • Demonstrated skill in reflective practice
  • Demonstrated skill in providing client focused care
  • Effective communication skills including conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
  • Effective team player within the transdisciplinary team and demonstrated ability to work with others including clients and their families
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including creative problem solving, sound judgement and organizational abilities
