| Qualifications | - Bachelors Degree and or equivalent
- Post Secondary Education (Fundraising) preferred
- Membership with the Association of Foundation Professionals (AFP) preferred
- Membership with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years direct planned giving experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills on MS Office Suite
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to use good judgement, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Health care fundraising experience
- Experience with Raisers Edge software
- Evidence of good performance history and attendance record

| Responsibilities | - The incumbent will be actively involved in identifying and securing legacy gifts through calls, written correspondence and face to face visits. A minimum # of calls/visits per month as well as written/verbal commitments in the fiscal year are required as outlined in the Annual Operating Plan.
- Contribute to the major gifts & research sections of the Foundations annual business plan by providing periodic and year end progress reports. The incumbent will keep a watchful eye on their assigned prospects and will assist colleagues in securing gifts as required.
- Integrate individual legacy gifts approaches to the major gift strategy where appropriate.
- Develop relationships with program staff, medical and allied professionals to create and build an understanding of the Culture of Philanthropy.
- With the Stewardship Advisor, steward legacy gifts donors.
- Assist in the implementation of the Culture of Philanthropy program within the Centre.
- Contribute to the Legacy Giving and Culture of Philanthropy sections of the Foundations Annual Operating Plan by providing periodic and year end progress reports.
- Stay informed of the tax aspects of all types of charitable gifts
- Keep current with new legislation and Revenue Canada rulings affecting legacy gifts.
- Other Duties as assigned. Some evening and weekend work is required.
- Be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors including:
- - Compliance with the safety standards of the hospital and applicable legislation
- - Identification and prevention of safety issues and problems
- - Taking corrective action, where possible
- - Attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the Centres standards
- Be committed to team excellence and adhere to the Foundations Team Charter
- Adheres to specific responsibilities and objectives as outlined in the Annual Operating Plan
