  • Secondary school diploma
  • Previous experience with patient and equipment transportation preferred
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of wheelchair repair preferred
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English well; good mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Physical stamina
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation of mobility aids, rehabilitation equipment and supplies to and from all departments within the Centre.
  • Maintain departmental pick-ups and deliveries
  • Maintain a complete record of mobility aids inventory, transfer and repair-related information
  • Operate postage meter /scale and photocopier
  • Be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors including:
  • Compliance with the safety standards of the hospital and applicable legislation
  • Identification and prevention of safety issues and problems
  • Taking corrective action, where possible
  • Attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the Centres standards
