Qualifications
  • B.Sc. (Occupational Therapy), or entry-level M.Sc. (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Eligibility status in C.A.O.T.
  • General/Surgical/Trauma experience preferred
  • Musculoskeletal experience preferred
  • Experience working in a hospital setting preferred
  • Experience in complex seating and assistive technology an asset
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Experience working with WSIB patients preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a transdisciplinary team
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to function in a consult model
  • ADP authorization status for mobility aids an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team with multiple admissions and discharges
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of West Park: Excellence, Respect, Trust, Collaboration and Accountability
  • Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors


Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients based on regulatory requirements
  • Provide education to patients and their families
  • Complete timely and thorough clinical documentation
  • Participate in transdisciplinary rounds
  • Participate in related in-service educational programs and service planning
  • Participate in clinical evaluation
  • Pursue continuous professional development, including active participation in the Occupational Therapy Professional Standards and Issues Committee
  • Participate in team and/or Centre wide committees
  • Participate where required in the in clinical assessment and treatment revenue generation services of the Centre
  • Participate in development of advances in practice
  • Supervision and coaching of Rehabilitation Assistants and occupational therapy students
  • On-call responsibility on a rotational basis
