Express service to Jane Street Station
Beginning Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, the Toronto Transit Commission is providing a regularly scheduled direct express run between West Park and the Jane Subway Station using Wheel-Trans buses.
This service, called Community Link, will run Monday to Friday and be open to anyone, especially West Park Healthcare Centre or Long-Term Care Centre patients, families, staff and volunteers. Although priority will be given to riders using mobility devices and seniors, all are invited to take advantage of this new service.
The cost is a regular transit fare, such as a token, or transfer ticket, collected at the Jane Station. The bus will pick up and drop off passengers at West Park’s front entrance to the main building.
Community Link is being offered on a trial basis. The TTC with West Park will be reviewing usage and feedback in order to optimize this new service over the coming months.
The capacity of each Wheel-Trans bus depends on the number of wheelchair riders – ranging from five seated riders (with four wheelchair riders aboard), up to a total capacity of 20 riders seated and standing if there are no wheelchair riders aboard.
